Skulls, Butterflies and Marriage | The Wedding of Stephanie & Shanan
May 10th, 2012Who’s wedding would combine the elements of butterflies, skulls, Indiana University and Hard Rock Cafe? None other than my cousin, Shanan! He and his gorgeous bride, Stephanie, were married recently at Villa Christina in Atlanta. We are so happy and excited for them! I’ll explain the elements of the wedding along the way…
Stephanie’s something blue – her sparkly shoes!…and the groom’s cake with skull and appropriate IU design…
And above, their gift to the guests – an official Hard Rock Cafe pin combining butterfly wings and skulls – apparently the first official Atlanta pin!
Below, Stephanie and her sister :)
Shanan and the guys…you can tell they are a FUN bunch!
Yes – the topper was a ‘Day of the Dead’ inspiration ;)
The setting sun provided a perfect light…
for a perfectly matched couple!
Congratulations, Shanan & Stephanie! More photos on FB soon, check there for more skulls and butterflies and photos!

Hangin’ Out with Alyson & Randy | E-Session
April 21st, 2012Alyson and Randy’s wedding day is fast approaching – June will be here before we know it! The skies were perfect for their engagement session as we ‘hung out’ in downtown Wetumpka as well as photographed a few images for a different look at Alyson’s grandmother’s property. I loved the interaction between these two – so laid back and peaceful. Let me know what you think!…of course, a few of my favorites are below…

Steampunk-Inspired Bridal Shoot I
April 20th, 2012I loooooove the steampunk movement (which has been evolving since the ’80s, so I’m not on to anything new here, lol!) and how it can be applied to so many things! I was more inspired by the utilitarian/Victorian look of incorporating time pieces and parts into a unique bridal shoot – all of which came from my late grandfather who was known in my hometown and surrounding areas as the clock/watch fixer/maker. He literally had parts, gears, bands, watch crystals, watch tools (the minature screwdrivers, etc), faces, hands, anything you could imagine in his barn. So with some of the few remaining leftover parts and watches left in plastic bags, I used the gears and other pieces to adorn the bridal objects. The camera even belonged to my grandpa – not sure if he ever used it, but he had written his name on it. Let me know what you think!
And thank you to my gorgeous model and friend, Joyce!

Brandon – 2012 Senior Session
April 19th, 2012Brandon is the son of one of my oldest ‘Alabama’ friends – so we go ‘way back’, lol! Well, 4 years at least. So to see him getting ready to graduate next month is unreal!!! I’m excited for him because, in my book, life begins AFTER high school. You think you know yourself, where you are heading, what you want to be, only to find there is so much more to learn. And that’s a good thing because once you get out of this high school-’real world’ transition, you find out who you really are and can truly develop the real you! Ok, that’s my little graduation rant… on to Brandon’s awesome [buff] senior photos! I had a hard time picking out which ones to blog…there are a few more on FB…but it’s still just a small overview!
Thanks, Brandon (and family!)

Krystenn & Ezeikiel | Wedding with ‘Swagger’
April 7th, 2012So I learned a new word from Ezeikiel…instead of saying ‘angle’ in posing someone, I will now be using ‘swagger’…LOVE IT! I had such a great time photographing this gorgeous spring wedding at the Pine Tree County Club in Birmingham. I loved the ivory, greens and peach tones of their day. I’m so excited for Krystenn and Ezeikiel as a couple! It was one of those weddings in which there is never enough time – but below are some highlights!
Her smile lights up a room :)
*swagger*
I wonder what the pastor is saying to Ezeikiel? hmmm…
Congratulations, Krystenn & Ezeikiel!!!
More photos to follow via FaceBook….

Jacob – 2012 Wetumpka Senior Session
April 2nd, 2012I just met Jacob the day of his senior portrait session – it’s always an honor to meet someone who is grounded in family during this transitional phase from high school to the world of opportunity! We captured some great images that I feel reflect his personality and hopefully his artistic style!
and one below with his sweet gf, Taylor :)
and this last shot was more of an outtake, I just really liked the expression!
Congratulations, Jacob! So many exciting things ahead for you!

E-Session Along the River | Crystal & Kevyn
March 22nd, 2012I met these two the day of their engagement session – it’s always interesting and exciting to have people find me online who put total trust in me to capture some fun images for them! We had a great time at a hidden location along the river that Crystal was familiar with – she grew up going to the ‘watering hole’, swimming and jumping off rocks – and introduced Kevyn to it. The place really is magical. Maybe that is why I went with a different textured, timeless look with these images….
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, Crystal & Kevyn!

Beth & Alvan | Wedding in the Woods | Part II
March 20th, 2012And now for many more photos of this amazing couple! Their wedding was some-what of a ‘destination’ wedding to the woods as most of the family and friends in attendance traveled to be a part of their weekend! I have so many beautiful images to tell their story but at least you’ll get a good overview…more to be found on Facebook!
The ceremony took place on the cabin’s deck…
And this kiss definitely sealed the deal! :)
A beautiful portrait of mother and son :) Ollie was ready to partake in the reception…
Lots of love…
Congratulations [again] Beth and Alvan!
